Pako Survival Guide

Alcohol Free Zone With the exception of designated licensed areas, alcohol is strictly prohibited at Pako Festa. Fines of up to $2,000 may apply.

Don’t Forget Hat, sunscreen, comfy shoes, water, if you smoke – carry an ashtray.

Keep it Clean Pako Festa aims to eliminate unnecessary packaging, reduce waste, maximize recycling and reduce littering. Look out for Recycling Stations (and rubbish bins) around the site.

Pets We encourage you to leave your Furry Friends at home. Pako Festa is an extremely busy event and it may cause some distress to your pets and others around them.

Road Closures from 4am reopen 10pm
Pakington Street and streets adjoining it are closed to all traffic from (and including) Anglesea and Collins Streets at the northern end and Autumn Street at the southern end from 3am reopening at 10pm. See the map on the program page for details.

Toilets Toilets are located at West Park, Geelong West Town Hall and Waratah Street. Assessable toilets are located at Karingal, West Park and Geelong West Town Hall

Water Keep hydrated on the day by visiting the Barwon Water drinking fountain in West Park.

Getting There Take the hassle out of the day by coming to Pako Festa by bus, train or by walking.

Parking: Parking around Pakington Street fills up fast! Please leave driveways free, no parking in ‘no standing zones’ and no parking behind or in front of barriers. Fines will apply. Accessible parking is available at the rear of the Geelong West Town Hall in the Albert Street Carpark.

Vline: Coming by train to Geelong? The Geelong Railway Station is an easy 5 minute walk from Pakington Street where the Festa is held. For timetable information contact Vline on 136 196. www.vline.com.au

Taxi’s: Drop off and Pick up points are located in Albert St, Hope St, Waterloo St and Gordon Ave.

Accessible Features:

Toilets: In the West Town Hall (main entrance in Pakington Street) and also in the public toilets at the back of the hall. At West Park, Fire Station end, a portable accessible toilet is available.

Ramps: Ramps to enable better access from the road to the pavement - one located between Albert and Weller Sts, and one between Albert and Preston Sts.

Parking: Accessible parking back of Town Hall.

Specific Needs Centre: Facilities for people with disabilites, older citizens, breast feeding mothers etc at Karingal 151 Pakington Street.
