New at Pako Festa in 2017

Discover Food of the World

In 2017 we’re celebrating Geelong’s cultural diversity, by sharing the loved recipes of our popular Community food stalls, with the support of Energy Safe Victoria.

Collect your FREE recipe cards from the local community group food stalls at Pako Festa, featuring 17 signature dishes from Bosnian, Croatian, Dutch, Filipino, French, Greek, Indonesian, Iranian, Irish, Lao Thai, Macedonian, Maori, Polish, Russian, Serbian, Slovenian and Ukrainian cuisines.

Don’t miss RockUp's Mobile Rock Climbing Wall, the biggest in Victoria, for a unique experience for the whole family. Getting to the top and ringing the bell lets everyone know you made it!

If rock climbing is not your thing, join the circus for the afternoon and try your hand at juggling, the hula hoop, spinning plates and more, with the lovely instructors from Geelong’s very own circus school, CircArts! There will be four FREE 1-hour circus workshops, starting from 12.30pm.

And finally, Come and Try Netball Victoria invites children to learn game skills including footwork, passing and goal shooting. Kids can also come and try the fun ‘obstacle course’ set up with cones and netball rings, among a range of fully staff supervised activities.

The Pakington Strand Activity Zone is located at the Pakington Strand along the northern end of Pakington Street. (please refer to map)

City of Greater Geelong @ Pako Festa

Come on down to Pako Festa 2017 and see the team the West Park Area to pick up a FREE copy of our latest issue of Switch Magazine*, written by young people, for young people, 12-25 years old! And while you’re here, try out the cool, rock inspired free photo booth. Pose with your friends and family to take home a free souvenir picture from your day at Pako Festa!

It has been a while since the last Switch edition, but the team at Switch have been working hard to come up with an issue that will blow your socks off! Articles featured are on Violent Soho, beach life and how to become a young writer for Switch - a project of the City of Greater Geelong.

Also joining Switch is the 'Our Future' team. Our Future is about asking our community to describe a 30-year community vision for Greater Geelong, to ensure a thriving, inclusive and sustainable future.

They’d like to make sure everyone in our community has an opportunity to have their say.

So, pop over and have a chat to the Our Future team about your ideas.
