Mobile Skate Ramp
Young people were able to have free tuition from accredited coaches at the Mobile Skate Ramp. Equipment was available for those who didn’t have their own.
Youthcan Van
The Youthcan Van gave young people a place to chill out with Xbox, wide screen TV, laptop facilities, electric guitars, board games, outdoor games and art materials. With its own funky sound system, the van really pumped out the sound.

Some more news on these highlights -
The Rustys
The Rustys, fundamentally an acoustic rock band, have an impressive string of awards behind them. The boys took out their Battle of the Bands heat last year and went on to win the Regional final. In March 2008, they will take on some big name acts in Melbourne at Push Over 2008 at the Battle of the Bands State Final. While the average age of the band is just 14 years, the boys are already masters at writing and performing their own material. The group comprises Beau Torrance on guitar and vocals, Matt Blach on drums and vocals, and Lachie McKiernan on bass guitar. Their debut album, “Lovely Day”, is a compilation of 9 of their original compositions.

"The Val"
"The Val" are a young rock, reggae, ska, style group from Geelong. Band members include Sam Warren on guitar and violin, Henry Madin (previous front man for "Goldenears") vocals and keys, Tess Whiley on bass guitar and sometimes trumpet and Jack Normoyle on drums. Sam, Tess and Jack have been jamming together for around 6 months and have recently been joined by Henry They are now well set to start making a name for themselves around the Geelong music scene. Check out the guys at www.myspace.com/the_val123.
The Little Green Houses
The Little Green Houses formed in early 2005 as a collaboration between long-time friends Blaise Adamson and Lucas Skinner. Tim Richards fills the role of percussion all-rounder, switching between djembe and drum-kit as the song dictates. Their latest EP “Look Outside” is a densely-layered ramble illustrating the houses’ penchant for drawn-out folk jams and explorations in dynamics and tonality. Having played at the Queenscliff Music Festival for the second year in a row, the Houses put on yet another show of musical diversity and song-writing subtlety at Pako Festa 2008.
Sambrose Automobile
Sambrose Automobile are three 15 year old friends from the Bellarine Peninsula/Surf Coast comprising: Sam Cooper vocals and guitar; Ambrose Kenny-Smith harmonica, guitar and percussion and Lonnie Carland drums. This young trio has quickly established a strong reputation. Numerous live performances and awards such as the Sleepy Hollow Blues Club / Vic Hunt Memorial Award (May 2007) and the Surf Coast Kool Schools Award (July 2007) see the band now recording their first professional tracks for upcoming release. Expect rock infused, blues influenced original material with a cutting edge.
