COMBO LA REVELACION
If you're a booty shaker in around Geelong, chances are you've shaken it to Combo at some stage of your life. Favourites at every festival they've graced, Combo are simply Australia's best Latin American Band. Formed in 1986 by Peruvian maestro Jorge Aguilar, this ten piece band is well known for its tight brass arrangements, musical precision and full percussion section that'll make you want to salsa all night long. Combo La Revelacion performs with a distinct Latin flavour, offering different styles such as : merengue, cha-cha, and mambo. However, it is most popular for specializing in SALSA! Some festivals Combo have performed at include Meredith Music Festival (for over 15 years), Moomba, St Kilda Festival, The Famous Spiegeltent, Harvest Picnic at Hagging Rock and even the 2006 Commonwealth Games, and the list goes on.
SABRINA & THE RED VANS
Melbourne's Sabrina and the Red Vans inject some well needed soul and groove into the hard worn genre of rock 'n' roll. Dirty guitar solos and driving drum and bass compliment commanding vocal harmonies, creating a dramatic push and pull effect that forms the essence of the band. Already lead vocalist Sabrina Sandapa has found fans internationally, earning a nomination for Best Female Vocal at the Los Angeles Music Awards(2007), as well as 1st place in the Folk/Acoustic sector of the Australian Songwriting Contest (2009) and Winner of the 2007 Coke a Cola Live and Local unsigned competition. Laying down some serious vocal prowess and moments of husky, sensual intimacy on stage. Lead guitarist Greg Whitehead, backing vocalist and bassist Suzanne Kinsella and drummer/percussionist Andrew Rogers come together as the red vans, a first class line-up that has enabled Sabrina to expand her creative vision for her music and earn an outstanding reputation as a must see live act.
